About Dr Caringer

Dr. Ellen Caringer is a clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist with over 20 years of experience working in school settings, hospitals and private practice.  She is recognized for her expertise in child psychology & neuropsychology.  She has served as a consultant and lecturer at hospitals, universities, schools, and parent organizations.  She has been an educator in the field of psychology and has provided seminars and continuing education programs for fellow psychologists, pediatricians, neurologists, optometrists and medical students.  Her skills in the use of behavioral and cognitive behavioral techniques have helped hundreds of families assist their children in acquiring the basic life skills necessary for a resilient and healthy lifestyle.

  Dr. Caringer was previously a psychologist at Kapiolani Medical Center and part of the Clinical Adjunct Faculty of the Department of Psychology at the University of Hawaii and Adjunct Faculty to the John Burns School of Medicine Psychiatry Department.  She has received both state and national awards for her contributions to the practice of psychology.  She has served as the president of the Hawaii Psychological Association and on national committees for the American Psychology Association.  She has also served as a Member of the Board of Psychology for the State of Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs.
